# Claiming Free Entries

> Participating in special free-to-enter raffles.

import { Note } from '@mintlify/components';

Sometimes, PollyPrize or its partners offer special raffles where you can get tickets for free! These are often used for promotions, rewards, or targeted giveaways.

## How Free Raffles Work

1. **Find Free Raffles:** Look for raffles explicitly marked as "Free Entry" or having a ticket price of 0.
2. **Check Eligibility (Gating):** Free raffles almost always have entry requirements ([Gating](/gating/overview)). You might need to:
   * Hold a specific NFT or token on Abstract.
   * Have a certain amount of PP.
   * Be a specific VIP tier.
   * Be in a snapshot of wallets or other custom list (possibly involving delegation, for instance if limited to holders of Pudhy Penguin NFTs on ETH Mainnet).
   * **Make sure you meet the criteria listed on the Raffle Detail page.**
3. **Claim Your Entry:** If you are eligible and the raffle is active, you'll see an "Enter Free Raffle" or "Claim Free Tickets" button.
4. **Click Claim:** Press the button.
5. **Confirm Transaction:** You still need to confirm a transaction in your wallet and pay a small network gas fee (in ETH). This records your entry securely on the blockchain.
6. **Tickets Allocated:** Once confirmed, you'll receive the number of tickets specified for that raffle (often just 1 ticket, but check the details). Any applicable VIP bonuses might still apply!

<Note>
  **One Claim Per Raffle:** You can only claim the free ticket allocation **once** per eligible wallet per free raffle. Trying to enter again will result in an error.
</Note>

## Hybrid Raffles

Some raffles might offer both a free entry component *and* allow purchasing additional tickets with tokens/ETH/PP.

* You can claim your free ticket(s) first using the "Enter Free Raffle" button.
* After claiming, you can then use the regular "Buy Tickets" options (ETH, Token, PP) to purchase more entries in the *same raffle*, up to any `maxTicketsPerAddress` limit.

Free raffles are a great way to get involved – keep an eye out for them!
